“Mom, there’s your song!” exclaims Abigail as Never Say Never Again by Dwight McCall plays on her bluegrass station. It takes me back to the day I emphatically proclaimed that I would NEVER marry anyone like Danny Parrish!! He was a weirdo!! I said this because from the moment I met him, all he would do was grin and stare at me. He wouldn’t say a word. I spent two semesters of college avoiding him at all cost. Before you say, “Didn’t your momma tell you to never say never?”, I can assure you that she told me often.
Sometimes we just think we have it all figured out when God reminds us, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9, NKJV)
God has the big picture, and He sees so much more than we do. He knows what is best for us and who is best for us. If we allow God to lead, our lives will certainly turn out for the better.
When I blurted out those fateful words, I was discouraged with guys. My heart had been broken, and I knew it was going to be hard for me to trust again. I needed help, so I turned everything over to God in prayer. Always, God with His infinite wisdom knew just what I needed. He used a friend of mine to help me see Danny through a different lens. That’s exactly what we need to do with our lives. It does not matter whether the situation is with a guy, friends, family, co-workers, a job opportunity, or just day-to-day struggles. Step back and turn everything over to the One who holds the complete picture. He can do amazing things in our lives if only we will surrender the control to Him. Trust Him. He loves you more than you can fathom. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NKJV)
God’s got this! He is awesome that way! Just like he showed me who the real person was behind the grin, He can show you a better path if you will let Him. So, before you decide to say, “Never,” stop and think about it. Do you really want to eat those words? Thirty years later, my family still laughs about it as I am happily married to my “Never”.

I have been sitting here and thinking about my comment. I love your web site. This is going to help so many young girls and may I say also married women. You two know the right words and have put them in a way to understand what Princess Training is about. Your Prince is our Lord and how to serve him in our everyday life. I am very happy that you two have worked, I could say you both had fun bringing this Princess Training together. I will enjoy this web site and I will be reading your blog everyday. I can not wait until your book comes out I may be the first one in line to get it if I can beat the other ladies at church to get this book. God bless you both, I think he has already to get to this training you had the love and support of your parents to help you from the time you were born and still at your age now they are your go to and ask Dad, Mom what do you think about this idea. You had this ideal about Princess Training and who is reading this post not it is not a love story, but it is a love story about God who loves us. You believed you could and you both are on your way to help me, and so many other young ladies and married women to know Gods words and understand those words.
